Steve’s community involvement has included the West Broward Ski and Travel Club; Plantation Athletic League coach; Plantation Chamber of Commerce; Plantation Kiwanis; and the Barbershop Harmony Society.

Steve enjoys spending time in the Florida Keys with his family and friends, singing bass with Barbershop Choruses and Quartets and occasionally torturing himself and others on the golf course.

As of December 31, 2015, Steve retired from the active practice of law at which time mediation and arbitration became his full-time occupation.

Letter of Introduction

My name is Steve Moody and I would be honored to be chosen as mediator in your case.  Many parties prefer to choose a mediator with whom they are familiar and the purpose of this letter is to provide you with a level of comfort should I mediate your case.

I have been mediating cases since becoming a mediator in early 2012.  I have been a member of the Florida Bar since June of 1971.

During my career I have handled a myriad of matters including real estate closings; title insurance; mortgage foreclosures; construction lien foreclosures; partition actions and other litigation related to real estate; administrative law relating to construction; code violations and variances; dissolution of marriage; custody and paternity disputes and other family matters; personal injury cases including motor vehicle crashes; premises liability; dog bites and intentional torts; business law including formation of businesses such as LLC’s, corporations, partnerships and joint ventures; drafting of contracts; suits regarding neighborhood disputes; condominium disputes; worker’s compensation claims; tax disputes; general business litigation; landlord/tenant matters; collections and other general civil matters both as a transactional lawyer and also as a litigator.

I have served on numerous Bar committees, including Florida Bar Grievance Committees, and those relating to the Broward County Bar Association having served as President in 2004-2005.  I was recipient of the Broward Bar’s Professionalism in Practice award in 2007.

I have mediated innumerable cases as an attorney and since 2012 as a mediator.

I have served as an arbitrator on some matters including Florida Bar fee disputes.

I retired December 31, 2015 and began a mediation and arbitration practice on a full time basis.

My office is my home in Davie.  Because I have no overhead, my fees are lower than mediators with my experience.  I am happy to mediate at any site chosen by the parties.  For a small fee, I have neutral sites available all over Broward County and am happy to travel to Miami-Dade and Palm Beach also.

I would invite you to go to my website, moodydisputeresolution.com, where you can view my photo and additional information about me, my background and educational and athletic accomplishments.

I believe all disputes should be settled and I will do my best to assist you in achieving an acceptable resolution.  You will not be disappointed with me as your mediator.

Respectfully,

STEVE E. MOODY
